This song by a Japanese singer, Kenji Sawada, was very popular in France in early 70s. It was when I was a little boy, such a long time ago. But many people in France remember this song.

"Mon amour je viens de bout du monde"... isn't it romantic or what?

What is amazing is that people in Japan don't know so much about the fact, this well known Japanese singer had a big hit single in France.

Quite honestly, I haven't been checking Japanese web sites and blogs these days. People in East Japan including Tokyo are getting very negative. It makes me sad more than anything. 
On the other hand, it is very true that they have good reasons to be negative. But the public space is often extremely dark. It is very dangerous... I keep hitting myself into electric poles at night on the main street on my way back home from the train station:(

English words are too common, so they started using French worlds.

I don't want to be so sensitive about radiation, but I do want to know what I eat.  

If you eat at restaurants, you never know where the the origin of the food is. So, choosing food carefully at shops and cook myself makes sense to me.

A friend of mine said "Tokyo is so dark now, like Paris" but in fact it is much darker here.

I was so glad that people in Japan did enjoy the

But now it's actually darker. 

During the day, the lights in the trains are off. 

Even at night, the trains are so dark that they can't even read newspaper.

I could be wrong, but it is used as a adjective in French meaning "tranquil" or"calm" as well.

First one is the Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong.

When I was living in Hong Kong, I would commute to work every day by Star Ferry. I never got bored of the view. 

The second one is San Francisco.

I saw these cats at a Buddhist temple. It looks like they are used to seeing people, and they were so good at ignoring them! 

Most temples and Shinto shrines in Japan are basically open for 24 hours a day. So, they must be good places for cats.

They are different from fake antiques. People know that they are new. So, there is nothing unfair. 

But... why do people in Japan buy those new products? 

It's because they are reasonable, and they look kind of cute.
